Learn to Make Easy Homemade Cinnamon Nut Granola

This granola has become a staple in our home, I make it all the time!   It makes a whole sheet pan full, so it lasts a while.   I like to eat it with yogurt and my husband and daughter mix it in with their cereal. And sometimes we just eat it as is.  It’s so easy to make and tastes better than the stale store-bought versions.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tsp cinnamon

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup canola oil

4 cups rolled oats

1 cup quinoa flakes

1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

1 cup coarsely chopped almonds

Directions:

  1.  Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk syrup, sugar vanilla, cinnamon.
  3. Add oil and continue to whisk. 
  4. Add oats, quinoa flakes and nuts until completely mixed.
  5. Pour oat mixture on baking sheet covered with either silicone mat or parchment paper.
  6. Press mixture flat with measuring cup or spatula.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, then baking sheet around and bake for about another 20 min or until golden brown.
  8.  Let cool and add whatever dry fruit you like.
