What my clients are saying…

For well over a year I had been neglecting my health. Teaching through the pandemic had really increased my stress and led to unhealthy eating habits. Couple that with taking care of my father who has early-onset dementia, and I could see the damage I was doing to myself. I had no energy after work each day, I constantly felt bloated, and my weight had crept up to the heaviest I’ve been in my life. It wasn’t until some routine blood work showed that my cholesterol levels were sky high that I knew I needed to take action. I knew I needed professional help, and found Anna-Lisa. From the first meeting with Anna-Lisa, I knew that I was in good hands. She is knowledgeable and non-judgemental. She gave me realistic goals and has supported me every step of the way. As a result, I have lost 18 pounds so far and at my last check-up my cholesterol levels are all back within normal ranges! I feel so much better. My energy levels have increased, I don’t have constant heartburn and bloating, and my exercise stamina has increased significantly. Honestly, this whole process has felt easy. I have not felt deprived or disappointed in my food choices. Anna-Lisa has made me realize that I can still have my favorite treats while eating healthy.

Christie

I appreciated all the time, knowledge, encouragement, recipes, etc. I liked Anna-Lisa’s balanced approach of eating well but in a way that’s still enjoyable and relatively easy. She was knowledgeable and thorough, and I appreciated all the personalized suggestions and ideas. I was worried I would obsess over food I didn’t enjoy, but I’m still enjoying my food, I feel good knowing I’m nourishing my body as healthily as possible, and I even lost some weight.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and a Nutritionist?

A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist is a food and nutrition expert with a degree from an accredited dietetics program.  A RDN also completes a supervised practice curriculum and has to pass a national exam. In order to maintain credentials, RDN’s continue professional development throughout their career.

The term “nutritionist” is unregulated and unfortunately, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, without any professional training or degree.

Some RDN’s (like myself) call themselves Nutritionist but Nutritionists can’t call themselves Registered Dietitian Nutritionists.

Why see a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)?

There are many reasons to see a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.  You may want to improve your eating habits but are overwhelmed with all the nutrition advice given.   Maybe you have tried every popular diet out there but none of them seem to work long-term.  Maybe you found out you have prediabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure and want to improve your health.

A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist works with you to develop an individualized plan to help you reach your health and nutrition goals.

What happens during the free 15 min Discovery Session?

During this first call, we talk about what led you to reach out to me, your goals and concerns. I will share with you how I work and answer any questions you may have.  If you are ready to move forward, we will then schedule your first session together.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance at this time.  I accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express via Paypal at time of service.

Can I use my Health Savings or Flexible Savings Account for Payment?

You may be able to use your HSA/FSA for payment of your visit.  Check with your  account manager to find out if nutrition consults are qualified expenses.

How often do we meet?

I provide individualized nutrition counseling so it varies by person. But studies have shown that people are more successful in reaching their weight loss goals when they have more frequent contact with a dietitian than when they meet less often. And we want success, right?

Do you offer remote nutrition counseling?

Yes, all my sessions are currently virtual using a HIPPA compliant video conferencing system.  You have the benefit of working with me from the comfort of your home or office with no traffic and commute time. That is time saved you can use to do the things you enjoy!
