Hello! I’m Lisa
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Who I Am – My name is Lisa Finger and I’m the founder of Running on Green. I hold a Master’s Degree in Nutrition Education from Columbia University and I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, licensed in the state of Georgia (LDN).
I provide virtual nutrition counseling in Atlanta, for individuals, couples and groups, as well nutrition education classes for corporate wellness companies. When I’m not doing any of the above, I’m a freelance writer and media consultant. I’ve consulted and written for Everyday Foods, Demand Media and many other publications.
I specialize in weight loss, weight management, healthy eating, sports nutrition for recreational athletes, vegetarian/vegan nutrition, heart health and peri/menopausal symptom relief and more.
A little bit about myself
I live in Atlanta, Georgia with my husband and daughter. We eat a mainly plant-based diet and occasionally have meat, we are flexitarians or vegetarians with benefits. I have never been a big fan of meat and seem to find vegetarian recipes more interesting. I believe all foods, in moderation, can be part of a healthy lifestyle. All my recipes are made from scratch, are easy to do and only require the very basic of kitchen appliances (with a few exceptions).
If you are a meat-eater I hope my recipes will inspire you to try some vegetarian recipes. And for a healthy balance, I will strive to include some delicious meat-friendly recipes.
I believe that real whole foods provide the body with the nourishment it needs to stay healthy and help prevent disease. Food should taste good and simpler is best!
In addition to eating a more plant-based diet, I also strive to reduce our waste (a.k.a zero waste), but more on that later.
I hope you enjoy this site and make sure to follow me below.
